Emergency Procedures

You should contact Van Dyke Gas if you:

  • Smell propane
  • Suspect you have a leak in your system
  • Need a propane appliance connected or disconnected
  • Move, or if there will be a change in tenant status
  • Purchase a new or replace an existing propane appliance
  • Have plans for an outdoor project that requires digging

Don’t hesitate. Call us right away.

If you smell propane and/or suspect a leak:

  • Do not operate lights or electrical equipment (including phones)
  • Leave the area IMMEDIATELY
  • Call 911 from a safe location
  • Call Van Dyke Gas from a safe location and do not return to the building until a professional determines it is safe to do so
  • Before you use a propane-powered appliance, schedule a safety inspection
